He is the winner of the prestigious Jackson Wild ‘Emerging Filmmaker’ award 2021, supported by National Geographic. His personal work has been awarded and accredited by organisations including The United Nations and the British Academy, screened at major festivals around the world and has been featured in publications such as Time Magazine, BBC News,&nbsp;Vice, Booooooom and Creative Review. John’s 2021 film,‘Stories of You and I’, is starring and narrated by&nbsp;Academy Award Nominee, Sir Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Game of Thrones, The Crown). John’s route into the film industry was in creative development; in which he has over 10+ years experience working alongside some of the world’s most renowned directors across advertising, documentaries, TV series and feature films with production agencies around the world. Prior to working in film, John studied and worked as an artist and graphic designer. His 2014 sound visualisation project ‘Soundscape - The Physical Sounds of Manhattan’, gained international media attention, creating a series of crystalline sculptures based on soundwaves - recreating NYC’s infamous skyline from the tracks that built it’s musical history, from Ella Fitzgerald in Harlem to The Ramones in the Lower East Side. Each of Manhattan's neighbourhoods are rebuilt based on a single song, representative of its own musical history, with the height of the soundwave correlating to the strength of its music scene. From Lower East Side punk, to jazz and blues in Harlem, Soundscape visualizes the musical history of Manhattan, taking viewers on a journey through key clubs and bars that helped define the scenes and even create genres, including CBGB's, Minton's Playhouse, Paradise Garage, Studio 54, Max's Kansas city and many more.
